MATERIAL THAT MUST BE RECYCLED
RECYCLABLES MUST BE PLACED CURBSIDE BY 6:00AM ON YOUR SCHEDULED RECYCLING DAY

CORRUGATED CARDBOARD Layered cardboard with center that is shaped into ridges, folds or grooves (waxy or glossy boxes are NOT acceptable) Flatten and tie with string in bundles no more than 24" h x 24" w x 24" l (LARGER BUNDLES WILL NOT BE COLLECTED)
NEWSPAPERS Newspring (including the advertisements found in newspapers) Tie newspapers with string in bundles no more than 12 inches high
MIXED PAPER Mail, magazines, office and colored paper; regular and window envelopes; receipts; glossy inserts; telephone books; chipboard and paperback books; greeting cards; brown craft paper bags; and non-metallic wrapping paper Place in rectangular container provided (NO NEWSPAPER ALLOWED; REMOVE ALL HARD COVERS FROM BOOKS)
GLASS BOTTLES & JARS Clear, green and brown bottles and jars Remove caps and throw in trash, rinse bottles and jars and place in round, 20-gallon container*
ALUMINUM, STEEL & TIN CANS Beverage and food cans Rinse cans and place in round, 20-gallon container*
PLASTIC CONTAINERS Beverage and laundry containers with #1 PETE and #2 HDPE symbols (located on the bottom or side of the container) Remove caps and throw in trash, rinse plastic containers and place in round, 20-gallon container.
COMMINGLED
*Containers up to 32-gallons will be accepted. Containers larger than 32-gallons or heavier than 50 lbs will be tagged and REJECTED.
TEXTILES Clean and dry clothing or fabric more than one square foot Clean and place in textile bag (available at the NEW BRUNSWICK DIVISION OF RECYCLING; 732-745-5059)


Items that will NOT be recycled under this program are toys, oven ware, ceramic and polystyrene cups and plates, pots and pans, baking pans, drinking glasses, mirrors, automobile windshields, light bulbs, window glass, wax coated boxes, pizza boxes, 6-pack beverage holders, flower pots, plastic bags, comforters, pillows, rugs and all other miscellaneous plastics. All these items should be placed in household trash.

PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT MIX RECYCLABLES WITH TRASH OR PLACE TRASH IN YOUR RECYCLING CONTAINERS. DO NOT USE BUNDLING DIMENSIONS OR CONTAINERS LARGER THAN MENTIONED ABOVE. DO NOT PLACE NEWSPAPER IN RECTANGULAR CONTAINER. NEWSPAPER MUST BE BUNDLED, TIED (SEE DIRECTIONS ABOVE) AND PLACED NEXT TO RECYCLING CONTAINERS. ALL ITEMS INCORRECTLY PLACED AT CURBSIDE WILL BE TAGGED AND REMAIN UNCOLLECTED.
