Dear Neighbor:

Greetings and welcome to May 2008 in New Brunswick!

Spring is here and there’s no better time to explore The Hub City and discover everything in Downtown New Brunswick. Take a Spring Break at one of our many fine restaurants and bars. Whatever your taste; sushi, steak, Italian, Mexican, Vietnamese, Latin, Cajun, Indian, Ethiopian or American cuisine, you can find it here.  Stretch your legs and browse our growing community of stores, museums, art galleries, coffee shops and ice cream parlors. Visit www.newbrunswick.com to find out more.

Get ready for Summer Vacation for less here in New Brunswick with only 3.5 percent sales tax at any of New Brunswick’s many Urban Enterprise Zone retailers. Save all year long on your purchases of consumer electronics, music, books, or many other items with half the regular state sales tax at any of New Brunswick’s UEZ businesses.

Catch one of the many great performances this May at New Brunswick’s Cultural Center, including: Musiq Soulchild on May 11, David Copperfield on May 14, the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra on May 15, and Dark Star Orchestra on May 30 at The State Theatre; Genesis Festival May 2-4 at The Crossroads Theatre; and Roger is Dead May 8-11 at The George Street Playhouse.

May 2008 will continue to be an incredible month of residential growth in our City, with Fulton Square (Georges Road & Remsen Avenue), The Residences at Heldrich (Monument Square) and Leewood Mt. Zion Homes (Remsen Ave. & Baldwin Street), each progressing quickly, and offering the gamut of affordable and luxury homeownership opportunities. Visit the sales offices at any one of these new communities to find out more about making your new home here in New Brunswick.

Very truly yours,
JIM CAHILL
Mayor
