Update from the Mayor Regarding Rutgers Village Main Replacement Project
Mayor Cahill has released a letter that provides an update on the water main replacement project in the Rutgers Village neighborhood.
The Mayor’s letter is available below in full text or by clicking the graphic.
Dear Rutgers Village Resident,
Now that we have completed the replacement of water mains on Tunison Road between Burnet Street and the second intersection of Wilcox Road, I wanted to provide you with an update on the status of the ongoing water main replacement project.
The contractor is awaiting the availability of additional temporary water service piping necessary to complete the work on the replacement of the water mains on Halstead Road and the upper portion of Wilcox Road.
We now anticipate that homes on both sides of Halstead Road and upper Wilcox Road will be placed on temporary service mains in mid-June and will remain on temporary service for approximately four weeks.
We will provide another update to you before the temporary mains are placed to ensure you have ample notification before going on temporary service.
If you have questions about this project, or about your water service, please feel call the New Brunswick Water Utility at (732) 745-5243. The department is prepared to answer your questions or send staff members to your home to provide you further information, if desired.
I thank you again for your patience as we work to bring lasting improvements to the quality of water in your neighborhood.
