NBPD Annual Visits Bring Holiday Cheer to Pediatric Patients
Officers with the New Brunswick Police Department again loaded up their patrol cars with toys to bring holiday smiles to the faces of children in two New Brunswick hospitals.
Each year, the department visits the pediatric wards of the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey and Saint Peter’s University Hospital, bringing dozens of toys to the young patients spending the holidays there.
The gifts were provided by New Brunswick PBA Local #23 as well as Ronald Struminger of JLS Professional, LLC and Howard Schmach of GDB International, Inc., two New Brunswick businesses.
Det. Bill Coleman, a detective in the department’s Juvenile unit, dons the red suit and plays Santa each year.
