NBPD Announces New Communication Cards Program
The New Brunswick Police Department has announced a new resource to assist in communication between City police officers and members of the community who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Placards are available at New Brunswick Police Department headquarters that contain printed verbiage and pictures to help facilitate easier communication in the event that aural communication is limited.
“The New Brunswick Police Department strives to ensure that a consistently high level of service is provided to all residents and visitors of our City,” said Police Director Anthony A. Caputo.
The cards are available in English and Spanish. Anyone who wishes to obtain the printed placards may visit New Brunswick Police headquarters during regular business hours and request one from the Director’s Office by calling (732) 745-5187 or sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
