Housing Assistance Programs Available Via NJHMFA
The New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency has programs available to assist first-time home buyers as well as those who may be facing foreclosure.
$10,000 in down payment and closing costs assistance is available to first-time home buyers via the NJHFMA’s Down Payment Assistance Program, an interest-free forgivable loan program for qualified buyers.

The NJHMFA’s Foreclosure Mediation Assistance Program assists residents who may be facing foreclosure. Anyone who is interested in participating in the program must contact the NJHMFA within 60 days of receiving a foreclosure notice.
Certified Housing Counseling Agencies are available to help Middlesex County residents, including New Brunswick’s own PRAB.
