New Brunswick Free Public Library Offers Taxpayers Free Assistance with 2019 Returns
Volunteers from Beta Alpha Psi at the Rutgers Business School will help taxpayers file online, by appointment only, on Fridays and Saturdays from January 31 to April 4, 2020. This annual service is sponsored by VITA, the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, and is for those of low to moderate income (maximum of $65,000).
The volunteers are only able to file current standard returns, no itemized deductions or special forms.
For an appointment, please call the library at 732-745-5108 ext. 25, or stop by the library's Main Desk. Please make sure to bring all documents needed to file your tax return. This includes Social Security cards and ID for you and any dependents, your W-2 forms and any tax forms sent to you by the government, records of expenses you want to declare, and a copy of last year's tax returns if available. A more detailed list of what to bring can be found on the library web site at www.nbfpl.org/income-tax-filing.
Please understand that the library is only the site for this service and library staff cannot answer tax-related questions.
