Spring Hydrant Continuing Through May 15
Spring hydrant flushing will continue through Friday, May 15 in the City of New Brunswick.
Our hydrant flushing programs are conducted twice a year to remove iron deposits that build up in water mains.
Any discoloration in the water will be a temporary condition and can be alleviated by running taps. We advise against washing laundry while discoloration is present.
Most City fire hydrants will be flushed between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., but some nighttime flushing will occur as well.
