City of New Brunswick Opening Dignity Center Friday May 15 at Memorial Stadium
Starting Friday May 15, The City of New Brunswick is providing a Dignity Center at Memorial Stadium (Joyce Kilmer Avenue behind the New Brunswick Middle School 1125 Livingston Avenue). Tuesdays & Fridays. Morning Shift: 8:00am -10:00am & Afternoon Shift: 12:00pm - 2:00pm. The center allows the opportunity for New Brunswick's most vulnerable population to shower, use the bathrooms and be connected with other services and resources during the current Coronavirus outbreak.
Showers will be on a first-come, first-served basis. The service will be made available two days per week (Tuesdays and Fridays starting May 15.)
The showers will be available for both men and women. Those wanting to use a shower must arrive no later than 1 hour before the end of the shift (before 9am for morning shift, and before 1pm for afternoon shift.)
Social distancing practices are mandatory. Facilities will be cleaned before, during and after each shift.
Guests will enter Memorial Stadium through the center tunnel and are required to sign in upon arriving. All guests must follow the similar rules of conduct that are in place for Code Blue (no fighting, no vandalism, no drug use or drinking of alcohol, etc.)
Volunteers are needed to assist with sign-ins, distribution of information on available resources, tracking shower times and opening and closing the venue each day. Those interested in volunteering should click here.
