New Brunswick Municipal ID Program Surpasses 2,000 IDs Issued
More than 2,000 Municipal IDs have been issued through the City of New Brunswick Municipal ID program since it began in the summer of 2017 and more are available for residents.
The New Brunswick Municipal ID program provides City-issued cards to residents who are in need of an official form of identification and can prove their identity and residency.
The IDs are accepted at all City buildings, New Brunswick Public Schools and our local hospitals. They are also accepted at six local banks: Bank of America, Wells Fargo, New Millennium Bank, Two Rivers Bank, Investors Bank and Bank of Princeton.
The IDs also serve as a library card for the New Brunswick Free Public Library.
Cards are available to New Brunswick residents ages 14 and older. Applicants must be able to provide six points of documentation to prove identity and residency and pay a $20 fee, $7 for seniors, veterans and children. A list of acceptable documentation is available here.
The Municipal ID office is located at the New Brunswick Free Public Library. It is open during the following times:
- 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Tuesdays
- 6-9 p.m. Thursdays
- 2-5 p.m. Fridays
