New Executive Order Adjusts Hours of George Street Road Closures for Outdoor Dining and Restaurant and Tavern Operating Hours

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (September 10, 2020) - A newly-implemented Executive Order details expanded outdoor dining hours for the period starting on Thursday September 17, 2020 and ending on Sunday October 18, 2020. 

City of New Brunswick Executive Order 2020-06, which went into effect today at noon, calls for the closure of George Street for the purpose of offering expanded outdoor dining every Thursday through Saturday for the period mentioned above to be from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. The Sunday closures for the same period will be from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

This means restaurants and taverns on George Street will be able to operate from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. each Sunday.

The Order also includes information on the use of a loading area on Spring Street to be used for outdoor dining on Saturdays only, and a scheduled closure of George Street for 4 consecutive days in late September.
