UPDATE: Bayard Street Closure in Place Through Nov. 16 for NBPAC Construction
UPDATE: This closure will continue through Tuesday, November 20 as construction crews disassemble the crane and clean up the road area to be reopened. Please continue to follow posted detours when traveling in this area.
Bayard Street will soon be fully reopened and parking restored between George Street and Elm Row, as the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center construction project continues to proceed ahead of schedule.
As part of the project, a portion of Bayard Street between George Street and Elm Row will be closed for approximately one week’s time, now through Friday, November 16.
The purpose of the closure is to complete a building phase for the new parking deck on Bayard Street involving a crane, followed by the dismantling and removal of the crane.
Once this phase is completed, the on-street fencing and Jersey barriers on Bayard Street will be removed and all on-street parking reopened between George Street and Elm Row.
Pedestrian access will remain open on Bayard Street.
Bayard Street will remain accessible to traffic via Elm Row throughout the closure period.
