Property Tax Payments Can Now Be Conveniently Made Online

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (July 26, 2021) – Beginning with the current 3rd quarter property tax collection cycle, residents and property owners within the City of New Brunswick are able to make their quarterly property tax payments electronically through the City’s website.

This secure portal can accept payments in the form of credit or debit cards or direct money transfers from existing bank accounts.

This new and convenient feature can be reached by visiting cityofnewbrunswick.org/taxes, or by either entering the word “taxes” in the search box, or clicking on the taxes icon, at cityofnewbrunswick.org. When accessing the site, those making the payment should have their tax account ID number and method of payment available. If the tax account ID is not known, visitors to the webpage are able to search for their property by using block and lot numbers, or qualifier information if applicable. The site will also feature access to a searchable database of properties sorted by owner name and property location.

“This new tax payment method provides ease and convenience for our property owners,” says New Brunswick Mayor Jim Cahill about the online portal. “The payments can be made instantly and securely at their discretion and convenience.”

For property owners who wish to continue to make their payments by check or money order, the secure drop box located at the rear entrance of New Brunswick City Hall at 78 Bayard Street will still be available weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. As always, checks and money orders are the only payment methods accepted when using the drop box. Cash payments are not to be deposited into the drop box at any time.

Check and money order payments as usual can be made through the U.S. mail.

For more information about the secure payment portal, please call the City of New Brunswick’s Tax Collection Division at (732) 745-5030.
