Storm Recovery Update and One Big Thank You
We are pleased to report that all residents who were evacuated have returned to their homes or have found alternate living arrangements. Accordingly, the emergency shelter will be closing.
The past few days have certainly been challenging. The efforts of so many, including many volunteers and contributors, have literally enabled us to weather the storm.
The City of New Brunswick would like to thank and acknowledge Parker Foundation, Inc., Elm Deli, iThreat, Elijah’s Promise, Tavern on George, American Red Cross of Central New Jersey, New Brunswick Lions Club, Clyde’s, Business Bistro Inc., Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple, Ethnos Community Church, Rutgers Student Volunteers, DEVCO, Replenish, Feeding New Brunswick Network, New Brunswick Public Schools, Sri Sathya Sai Global Council, Marine Corps Volunteers, Mozzarella Cucina and Pizzeria, Coach USA, Point Community Church and all the many individual volunteers for their kindness, generosity, time and energy as we battled the effects of Ida. Thank you one and all.
A special note of appreciation as well to all the City personnel, sister agencies and neighboring community partners whose efforts were truly remarkable.
And if you helped a neighbor or lent someone in need a helping hand, thank you.
It's what helps to make the City of New Brunswick the special community that it is.
